Plans Review

The Sediment Control Program is administered by the Bureau of Stormwater Management. Sediment control must be addressed for all new development within Harford County that disturbs more than 5,000 square feet or involves movement of more than 100 cubic yards of earth. Developments that require sediment control must submit design plans that outline the sediment control practices and receive approval prior to any land disturbing activity.

For specific design requirements and legislation please refer to the following websites:

All submittals must be processed through Harford County’s Development Review Process. As part of this process, Bonding and Permits coordinates the plan approval, bonding requirements, and permit approval process for the Department of Public Works. Any questions about project status or time frames for approvals should be directed to that office.
