    Bird banding is a universal and indispensable technique for studying the movement, survival and behavior of birds. Eden Mill Nature Center is offering several dates to come and join Mark Johnson as he band birds. No registration is required. Banding will take place at the Joe Vangrin Memorial Pavilion with intermittent walks to check the nets. The following Bird banding dates are tentative and weather permitting: 9/1, 9/6, 9/11, 9/20, 9/26, 10/4, 10/19, 10/25, or 11/1 from 7am – 12noon.

We are seeking volunteers to help monitor flowering plants, butterflies and dragonflies for Project BudBurst and Nature’s Notebook, online databases that scientists use to understand the effects of climate change on the phenology of native species. Teams that turn in a book with all activities completed and questions answered correctly will receive a free one-year family membership. This program is for families and the program is free.

    For those of you who like to take a step back in time, Eden Mill is the sight that can't be missed. For more than 200 years old, the mill was hailed as the most significant grist mills in Harford County MD. Filled with milling equipment and displays along with a vintage turn of the century power plant, Eden Mill is a must see experience for all ages.
