    HOME SCHOOL PROGRAM - WATER WONDERS
    4 Week Program
    Eden Mill Nature Center, 1617 Eden Mill Rd. Pylesville, MD
    4-week program on Monday April 28, May 5, May 12, and May 19 for participants ages 6-8. This program will also be offered for ages 9-12 on Wednesday April 30, May 7, May 14, and May 21. These sessions will be held from 10-11:30am. The fee for the 4-week program is $24 for members with $20 for siblings or $27 for non-members. Join us as we explore water properties through experiments and various activities. We will take a journey through the water cycle, learn about watersheds, investigate our wetlands and become familiar with water conservation. Parents and siblings are welcome to enjoy the trails during the program. Pre-registration is required.

    The Piedmont Learning Center at Eden Mill Nature Center will be offering an Introduction to Kayak Workshop for adults April 12, April 13, May, 10, May 11, June 14, or June 15 from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Course fee is $70.00 per workshop. Join our ACA Certified Instructor for a full day of classroom, on-water basic strokes, wet exits, rescues, and even a game or two! This workshop explores the lower-in-the-water world of the recreational and touring kayak, perfect for paddlers who want to enjoy exploring the quiet waters of the Upper Bay region. Basic strokes, kayak gear, styles/pro’s and con’s of different kayak design, maneuvers and getting wet will fill out your day! We have a limited number of kayaks to borrow and try out, but if you have your own, we strongly suggest you bring it, along with your own paddle and PFD. No experience needed.     BIKE TO WORK DAY & BRIEFCASE CHALLENGE

    Join hundreds of area commuters on May 16, 2008 for a celebration of bicycling as a clean, fun and healthy way to get to work. Highlights of the day include a free Bike Rally from 7-9:00 AM at 220 South Main Street in Bel Air, where participants can join the bicycle parade, get the signature Bike to Work t-shirt, and win prizes while enjoying refreshments and entertainment. Also featuring the Briefcase Challenge, a competition between area employers to see who has the most participants biking to work.
