    SUMMERTIME IN THE PARK
    June 29 - August 1
    Darlington Elementary and Francis Silver Park
    Summertime in the Park, a summer day camp of the Dublin/Darlington Rec Council will run Monday through Friday for five weeks starting June 29 through August 1 (no camp on July 3 due to holiday. Camp will be located at Darlington Elementary School and Francis Silver Park. Hours are 8am to 4pm and the cost is $75 per week per child. This is an old fashioned day camp featuring nature crafts, games, guest speakers, art, safety education and more.     The Piedmont Learning Center at Eden Mill Nature Center will be offering an Introduction to Kayak I Day Workshop for adults. Course fee is $70.00/members or $80/non-members per workshop. Join our ACA Certified Instructor for a full day of classroom, on-water basic strokes, wet exits. rescues. and even a game or two! This workshop explores the lower-in-the-water world of the recreational and touring kayak, perfect for paddlers who want to enjoy exploring the quiet waters of the Upper Bay region. Basic strokes, kayak gear, styles/pro's and con's of different kayak design_ maneuvers and getting wet will fill out your day! We have a limited number of kayaks to borrow and try out. but if you have your own, we strongly suggest you bring it, along with our own paddle and PFD. No experience needed.     The Piedmont Learning Center at Eden Mill Nature Center will be offering “Introduction to Kayaking Touring–” for adults. Course fee is $140.00. The Upper Bay beckons. The mighty Susquehanna is calling your name. You need a Touring Class! Two days of skills refinement, advanced self and group rescue, kayak maneuvers, trip planning, safety, wind and wave practice, new strokes and new vistas. The days are full, so eat a hearty breakfast and pack a big lunch with snacks. You must have your own kayak with fore and aft bulkheads (hatches) or tight fitting floatation bags installed. No loaner boats available for this class. You must have completed an Introduction to Kayaking as a pre-requisite. Pre-Registration IS required.

    INTRODUCTION TO KAYAKING WORKSHOP

    The Piedmont Learning Center at Eden Mill Nature Center will be offering an Introduction to Kayak I Day Workshop for adults. Course fee is $70.00/members or $80/non-members per workshop. Join our ACA Certified Instructor for a full day of classroom, on-water basic strokes, wet exits. rescues. and even a game or two! This workshop explores the lower-in-the-water world of the recreational and touring kayak, perfect for paddlers who want to enjoy exploring the quiet waters of the Upper Bay region. Basic strokes, kayak gear, styles/pro's and con's of different kayak design_ maneuvers and getting wet will fill out your day! We have a limited number of kayaks to borrow and try out. but if you have your own, we strongly suggest you bring it, along with our own paddle and PFD. No experience needed.     TWILIGHT CANOE TRIP

    Reservations are now being taken for Eden Mill Nature Center's Twilight Family Canoe Trips! These trips help acquaint the paddlers with the natural surroundings on Deer Creek. Exploration of the environment, both the land and the water, is enhanced by the use of canoes to travel along Deer Creek. During these excursions, environmental education and interpretation are provided by the naturalist accompanying the group. Basic paddling instruction is provided before the trip. Canoes, paddles, and personal floatation devices (lifejackets) are provided. All trips originate and end at the Eden Mill Nature Center. The cost is $8.00 per person for non-members / $5.00 per for members. Small groups can be accommodated. Pre-Registration IS required.
