GAGLIANO CONVICTED OF CHILD ABUSE
A Harford County jury found Michael Gagliano guilty of sexual child abuse. The verdict came April 1st after four hours of deliberation. The charges stemmed from acts committed against a 12 year old girl from May through August of 2001. The six day case was tried by Deputy State's Atorney Diana Brooks, who presented testimony from the victim. The 12 year-old had been aneighbor of Gagliano. The case was indicted in March of 2002.
Judge Emory Plitt ordered a pre-sentence investigation and continued the defendant on bail. Sentencing is sheduled for May 23, 2003 at 9 am. Gagliano could receive up to fifteen years in prison.
