TWO MILLION DOLLAR THIEF ARRESTED
Michael Phillip Luby, age 48, whose last know address was in Hebron, Maryland, was arrested by police in Vermont on August 29, 2007, having been a fugitive from justice since March 2007 when a Harford County Grand Jury returned three indictments against him totaling 54 counts ranging from theft to forgery. The Indictments reveal that during 2005 and 2006, Luby stole more than $2 million from victims in an elaborate scheme involving property both in Maryland and in Virginia.
Luby has waived extradition and is being returned to Harford County where he will be held on a $3 million bond at the Harford County Detention Center. The case is being investigated by the Harford County State's Attorney's Office.
