STREET MAN CONVICTED OF POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY


Frederick H. Garrity, age 26, of Street,

Maryland, was convicted on Monday, November 5, 2007, of 12 counts of possession of child pornography. The case was investigated by the Maryland State Police and the Harford County Sheriff's Department, working with the Harford County Child Advocacy Center. Investigators at the Child Advocacy Center received a tip from an individual who had seen child pornography on Garrity's laptop computer. The investigators conducted a search of his residence and seized numerous items, including a laptop computer and a tray of compact discs. An examination of the computer and the discs revealed numerous images of both adults and children engaged in sexual conduct.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorney Diane Adkins Tobin over three days. Judge Stephen Waldron announcedthe verdict and scheduled sentencing for November 14, 2007. Garrity faces one year incarceration on each count.
