CONVICTION IN DRIVE-BY SHOOTING
Yesterday evening, November 14, 2007, a Harford County jury, after deliberating for 18 hours,convicted defendant Justin R. Hannah of attempted first degree murder for his involvement in a drive-by shooting which took place in Darlington during the early morning hours of April 15, 2007. Judge Stephen W. Waldron, presided over the trial which began on November 5, 2007. Assistant State's Attorney Tracey J. Delp argued to the jury that Justin Hannah arranged a meeting with the victim, Brent Nicholson. While Mr. Nicholson and his companion, Cortney Bledsoe sat in a vehicle awaiting the defendant's arrival, the defendant drove past them as three shots were fired from the defendant's front passenger window. All three shots struck Mr. Nicholson's vehicle. Mr. Nicholson and Ms. Bledsoe were not harmed in the shooting.
A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled. The defendant Hannah is being held in the Harford County Detention center on no bond.
