KERRI KING RELEASED FROM JAIL SENTENCE
On April 8, 2008 Kerri Joanna King was convicted in the District Court of Driving While Suspended. Judge Mimi Raffel Cooper sentenced King to 365 days of incarceration in the Harford County Detention Center. On that same date King's attorney went Judge William O. Carr of the Circuit Court and without a State's Attorney present had the sentence stayed by Judge Carr. King's attorney, Brian Cunningham is a former law clerk of Carr.
King has several pending driving the cases and the media had reported that she had been sentenced to jail.
A hearing has been scheduled before Judge Cooper on April 22, 2008 at 11:00 am on the issue of whether the State was afforded the opportunity to be present to interpose an objection to the stay before it was granted by the Circuit Court.
