Our government agency assists people in need by administering a wide range of public assistance programs. Primarily, we help low-income people as well as families and children in crises.
We help low-income county residents access food stamps, medical assistance and temporary cash assistance. And, we help them pay their heating bills when they lack the income to pay it themselves. We also collect and distribute child support payments.
In addition, we investigate allegations of child/adult abuse and neglect. Too often, the silent victims of family violence and volatile family dynamics are children. When necessary, we remove children from their families - either temporarily or for the long term - when the children are not being properly cared for by their families.

| Description: | The 2011 Harford County Farm Fair will be held Thursday July 28th-Sunday July 31st. With each passing year, the Fair grows to include new activities, and the demand for more volunteers grows as well. We invite you to be part of the fun at the "Kidway" this year and earn money for your organization. We need volunteers to help man the games at the Kidway area. |
| Requirements: | Organizations/Volunteers may choose as few as one game for one day or any other combination, but please sign up for a full day. If your group will be staffing multiple games, you are to designate an on-site coordinator who will have a master list identifying who is scheduled to work at each game, as well as a contact phone number for the group. An adult must be assigned to supervise all volunteers 12 years of age and under. When scheduling your volunteers, allow for rotation during the shift for breaks. The games are not to be closed at any time. This year it is not necessary to schedule additional volunteers to accommodate food and restroom breaks, as long as your group can provide minimal coverage at all times (for example - the games which require 2 people can be covered for a short period of time by 1 person, etc.). Volunteers should be at least 8 years of age or older. |
