Chad R. Shrodes is the Council Member for District D, which includes Jarrettsville, Norrisville, Whiteford, Street, Dublin, Darlington, Level and Forest Hill.
Councilman Shrodes graduated from North Harford High School, attended Harford Community College, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and Land Use Planning from Towson University in 1997. He is also a 1999 graduate of the Harford Leadership Academy. The Shrodes family has lived in Norrisville since the 1800s and he is proud of his long Harford County Heritage
As a member of the Harford County Council he serves on the Economic Development Advisory Board, the Core Services Agency, the Cultural Arts Board and the Harford Cable Network Board as an Alternate.
Councilman Shrodes worked for both the Harford County Department of Planning and Zoning and the Maryland Department of Planning in the fields of land preservation, forest conservation and development proposal review prior to taking office. He now works as a Real Estate Agent with Long and Foster Real Estate, Inc.
Councilman Shrodes is a member of, and volunteers in, numerous community groups. He is an advocate for Harford’s rural heritage and agricultural industry through his support of the Land Preservation program, Farmer’s Markets, 4-H programs and capital projects, and the Farm Bureau. An avid conservationist, he has participated in several stream restoration and reforestation projects including those at Big Branch, Eden Mill, the Dublin Boy Scout Camp, the Whiteford Streetscape Project, and Harford Glen. Councilman Shrodes is also an active member of the Jarrettsville Lions Club, serving two terms as the program director from 2005 to 2007. In addition, he is a past sponsor of the Twilight Market at Rockfield Manor and the Jarrettsville Hawks Football Program.
Councilman Shrodes resides in Norrisville, and enjoys hiking, trying new foods, and playing with his nephew, Patrick.
