• EFFECTIVE April 21, 2008: 2006 International Building Code and 2006 International Residential Code (Adopted by Harford County Council Bill 08-03, As Amended) (Contains local amendments to 2006 International Building Code ). Effective April 21, 2008. A copy of the 2006 International Building Code can be purchased from International Code Council (ICC) office by calling 1-800-323-1103. For a copy of Bill 08-03, As Amended, contact the Harford County Council Office at 410-638-3347.
• EFFECTIVE April 21, 2008: 2006 International Mechanical Code (as referenced in the 2006 International Building Code). See the above information to get a copy of the Code.
• National Fire Protection Association 101, 2006 Life Safety Code, NFPA 101. In publication and available from the National Fire Protection Association, Batterymarch Park, Quincy, MA 02169. Call 1-800-344-3555 or (617) 770-3000.
• State of Maryland Fire Prevention Code, COMAR 29.06.01 thru 29.06.14 (adoption of NFPA 1). In publication and available from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, 300 East Joppa Road, Suite 1002, Towson, MD 21286-3020. Call 1-800-525-3124.

Rehabilitation:

• Maryland Building Rehabilitation Code COMAR 05.16.01 Update. On July 16, 2007 the 2006 International Existing Building Code will now constitute the Maryland Rehabilitation Code. A copy of the updated COMAR regulations may be downloaded from the DHCD Code Lynx web site at http://mdcodes.umbc.edu/dhcd2/rehab-new.htm.

  Individuals wishing to use the updated Maryland Building Rehabilitation Code are cautioned to understand the relationship and interplay of current State laws such as the State Fire Prevention Code, Maryland Accessibility Code, the State Plumbing Code, etc. References made by the text of the 2006 International Existing Building Code may not accurately reflect the provisions of existing State laws.

Electrical:

• 2008 National Electric Code (Adopted by Harford County Council Bill 08-31, effective July 14, 2008, with local amendments thereto). 2008 National Electric Code is available from the National Fire Protection Association, P.O. Box 9146, Quincy, MA 02269. Call 1-800-344-3555. For a copy of Bill 08-31, contact the Harford County Council Office at 410-638-3343.

Plumbing:

• 2003 National Standard Plumbing Code and the 2004 Supplement (Adopted by Harford County Council Bill 04-47, with local amendments). Effective March 8, 2005. A copy of the 2003 Code can be purchased from the Maryland Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association (MPHCC), Suite 205, 10176 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042.
