Many bridges in Harford County are eligible or may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.  The County with assistance from the State Highway Administration is evaluating the historic significance of bridges that are over 45 years old.

The Maryland  Historical Trust must be consulted concerning any planned work on a potentially National Register eligible bridge.  As a result of their review, restrictions may be places on the methods, materials and extent of work in an effort to reduce or eliminate any impact to the historical aspects of the bridge.
