Transportation Engineering works very closely with local developers and engineering firms. It is this group’s responsibility to review all road and storm drain plans for new developments in the County to make sure they meet Harford County and Maryland State Highway Administration standards. This group also determines whether a developer can obtain a variance or a waiver to one of the Harford County standards due to special circumstances.

Many Harford County projects utilize consultant engineering firms that bid on providing design services. This division works closely with potential firms desiring to bid on the design projects.
