Church Creek Subbasin

The Church Creek Subbasin or watershed is 14 square miles in size and is one of three subbasins within the Bush River Basin along with the Bush Creek Subbasin and the Otter Point Creek Subbasin. 52% of the watershed is forested, 26% is developed and 22% of the land is used for agriculture. The tributaries to Church Creek include Grays Run and Granberry Run each approximately 6 square miles. The U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Board on Geographic Names maintains a database of stream names and is responsible for reviewing/approving requests for name additions and modifications.

The headwaters to Cranberry Run begin at the Higher Education and Applied Technology Center (HEAT Center) near MD Route 22 and I-95, drain past the industrial parks along MD Route 40 and join Grays Run southeast of Riverside Business Park.
