The Harford County Health Department, Bureau of Environmental Health will open the 2009 wet season percolation testing starting on January 20, 2009. This decision is based on observed water tables levels in the department's network of groundwater monitoring wells. The rains of November and December and warmer than usual temperatures have contributed to the rise in the water table. As always, the Health department advocates applicants submit their applications as soon as possible. Based on past history, applications submitted to the Department after April 1st may not be scheduled in the current wet season. Although the wet season can routinely be expected to run between February 1st and April 30th as demonstrated by the early start this season, this time frame is weather dependent. The start and ending date of the wet season will be based whenever possible on real time monitoring well data.
