Recreation Programs

COUNTYWIDE PROGRAM
Freaky Friday Fun:
Ages 8+; This program for individuals with disabilities meets on the first Friday of each month during the school year beginning in October. It includes areas for arts and crafts, table games, fitness activities and active games.
Kooky Krafts:
For individuals with disabilities. Have a flair for crafts? This program meets periodically throughout the year and provides an outlet for the artistically inclined. Info: 410-638-4899.
Preschool - Autumn Activities:
This series of classes, for children ages 3-5 years, is designed to get them excited about Autumn.  For more information call 410-638-3616 or 410-692-7820.
Registration Information: Registration will occur on Monday, October 13 from 10:00am - noon at the Forest Hill/Hickory Activities Center. Classes include: October 29: Pumpkin Party, November 5: Fabulous Fall Festivities and November 19: Gobble, Gobble!. Cost is $12 per class and includes all materials and supplies.
Preschool Program - Under the Sea:
Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a variety of preschool programs during the year.  This five week program will allow children to do a different craft each week while exploring the wonders of Under the Sea through crafts, storytime and free play.  We will work on skills such as cutting, painting, gluing, coloring and more.  For more information call 410-638-3616 or 410-692-7820.
Staccatos:
For people with disabilities middle school age & older, this musical program is filled with performance opportunities. Tuesdays; 6:30-8pm; Various sessions; Southampton Middle School; Room 233. Info: 410-638-4899

Festival for the Arts:
All ages; 3rd Sunday; September; Bel Air Band Shell; Rain or Shine; www.belairfestival.com
Registration Information: September 21, 2014, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Rain or Shine; Shamrock Park, Behind Bel Air Town Hall; Over 250 craftpersons, artists, photographers and youth exhibitors; Music, food & entertainment throughout the day; FREE parking & shuttle bus service from MVA; No admission charge.

Arts Program:

Nature Storybook Art:
Select Tuesdays each month; 4:15- 6:00pm; ages 5-10 Fee: $52.00/member or $55.00/non-member per month (4 classes) Nature Storybook Art, developed and taught by Brenda Marsden, allows children to become more aware of book illustration by experiencing hands-on techniques as part of easy art projects. Children are invited to explore art activities with materials readily available in most homes and schools. Each activity builds new awareness about books, illustrators, and their art techniques. Each illustrator is paired with a book, and presented to the child artist for an art activity of creative value. Children will see a relationship of book illustrations to their own art explorations. Art techniques include: Drawing, Painting, Collage, Crafting/Constructing. Must pre-register!  
Preschool Nature Series:
Select Fridays, monthy; 10-11:30am; ages 2-5 with an adult Fee: $8/member with $6/member sibling or $10/non-member per date This exciting Nature Series features activities, live animals, crafts, snacks, and exploration of various parts of Eden Mill Park. Taught by Tiny Wonders instructor, Kim Truxel. Must pre-register!
