programs countywide - Basketball, Indoor Soccer, and Wrestling register in the
Fall; Baseball, Softball, and Lacrosse register January-February; Football
and Soccer register in late May and early June.
There are twenty (20) recreation councils, composed of volunteers, who join with
the Department of Parks and Recreation in providing recreational programs, organizing
special events, and in proposing the acquisition of land and the development of
facilities. These volunteers meet on a regular basis and their meetings are open to the
public. Call your local recreation office for additional information.

Individual accident insurance is not provided by Harford County nor the local recreation
The Department of Parks & Recreation and its affiliated recreation councils reserve
the right to cancel or reschedule any program due to insufficient enrollment or other
causes which may affect the health, safety, or welfare of the program participants. During
inclement weather, if schools are closed or close early due to weather, programs scheduled
at these sites are automatically cancelled. Furthermore, if Harford County Public Schools are closed on Saturday or Sunday for inclement weather, all Parks & Recreation activities in and on school property are cancelled. This closing will be announced on local radio stations.
The cancellation of programs in Parks & Recreation buildings is determined by the local building managers and this information is disseminated through the individual programs scheduled to meet in the building and/or broadcasted on local radio stations.
Cancellation of programs at the Parks & Recreation sites below will be announced over local radio stations and decimated to local programs. During normal business hours, you can call the local Parks & Recreation office in your area for details.

NEW PROGRAM IDEAS
To improve our programming, we need to know what type of classes, workshops, programs, or
special events you desire. Anyone with suggestions for programs not presently offered,
please call your local Recreation Office. If an instructor can be found and enough people
desire this program, we will do our best to provide it.
Our primary means of advertising are program flyers,
distributed periodically through schools, libraries, etc., and news releases, submitted to
all local news media.

Field work/Internship opportunities may be available for students majoring in leisure

WANT TO WALK YOUR DOG IN ONE OF OUR PARKS?
Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation's Park Regulations allow,
unless otherwise posted, pets in our parks provided they are on a lead and under control.
Owners are also responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
