SARC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

SARC Volunteer Opportunities Harford County, MD – The Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center, Inc. (SARC), Harford County’s non-profit service provider for domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking will hold its 26 Hour Basic Crisis Response Training during the month of January, 2010. This Basic Crisis Response Training will allow volunteers to work directly with clients either on the 24 Hour Helpline or as a Hospital Companion, or in any other way that directly interacts with clients. In order to volunteer as a hospital companion, an additional 8 Hour Training is required that immediately follows the 26 Hour Basic Crisis Response Training. This training consists of six weekday evenings and three weekend days, all of which are mandatory. Anyone interested in volunteering, or in getting more information about other ways to get involved with SARC’s Mission within the community may contact the volunteer coordinator, at 410-836-8431 ext 225.

County Parents Magazine has announced that it will be hosting its 8th annual County Parents Camp & Education Fair on Sunday, February 28th, 2010 at the The John Carroll High School in Bel Air, MD from 11am to 4pm. This free, fun-filled event will feature a variety of exhibitors that offer summer activities and camps from around the region and is designed to be a great resource for families. Families can find out and sign up for programs specializing in sports, academics, education, science and nature, and the arts. There will also be fun children’s entertainment, demonstrations, prizes and giveaways. We'll be showcasing the largest collection of camps, schools, summer activities under one roof ... so this will be the place to be!
