Harford County Seniors Activity Centers - A wonderful place of belonging

Over the years, Harford County's six Senior Activity Centers have taken on the characteristics of being more than just places for seniors to gather. Instead, they've become centers of extended learning, hallways of health, classrooms of recreation and a haven for wonderful friendships!

The Senior Activity Center is the place to be!

Whether you enjoy dancing or quilting, basket weaving or painting, woodshop or traveling, computers or cards, memoir writing or study of the Civil War...the opportunity to expand your horizons is always available. And what better way to make new friends than to engage in conversation over lunch.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants taking EARLY or LATE classes should BE PREPARED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION. If a course is cancelled due to INSUFFICIENT ENROLLMENT, students who have paid for that course will be refunded. OTHERWISE, WE CANNOT OFFER ANY REFUNDS. SUPPLY FEES are to be paid at time of registration. Supply fees are not refundable unless class is cancelled.

HARFORD COUNTY SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER COURSE CATALOG WINTER 2010:  Semester is in session January 4 - March 12, 2010.  Centers and Offices are CLOSED Monday, February 15.   SPRING 2010:  Spring 2010 semester will run April 6 - June 11.  CENTERS AND OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED on APRIL 5, MAY 31, and ONE OTHER DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED.  There will be no classes held on these days. REGISTRATION for the SPRING 2010 semester will be held  February 16 - March 12, 2010.   The classes listed in this catalog are for the SPRING 2010 semester. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY:  Please read this policy carefully. In the event of inclement weather, the Harford Co. Office on Aging's foremost concern is the safety of participants and staff.  If Harford County Schools are CLOSED due to inclement weather, Senior Activity Centers will be CLOSED.  If Harford County Schools open LATE due to inclement weather, Senior Activity Centers will open at NOON for participants.  No meals will be served and no transportation will be provided.  Classes scheduled prior to the late opening will not be held.  Staff will report as usual. School delays and closings not due to weather have no effect on the daily operation of Senior Activity Centers. IMPORTANT FLU INFORMATION:  We are very concerned about the health and wellbeing of our participants.  With increased concern about the severity and extent of flu strains this flu season, please be aware that we may need to take certain actions to protect the general health of our membership which may include closures or cancellations of some programs.
