Education and Support Groups
A variety of educational institutions, hospitals and agencies offer classes/programs for those who provide care for elderly relatives. Some classes are ongoing; others are offered a few times a year. There is usually a charge for the more comprehensive hands-on training classes.
Support groups such as the Alzheimer's Association, Arthritis Foundation, Parkinson's Association and others have education programs as part of their activities. Conferences sponsored by local organizations also provide information on aging issues and concerns for professionals, paraprofessionals, the elderly and their families.
