Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
The Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and Curb Abuse In Medicare and Medicaid (CAMM) is a counseling and advocacy service that assists the senior population of Harford County by offering information to Medicare beneficiaries and their families about health insurance issues. They provide assistance by telephone, in-office, at senior centers, senior housing sites, or limited in-home consultations. In addition, the program provides speakers for community associations and civic groups to distribute information on insurance topics. Some of the most common areas counseled are Prescription Assistance, Medigap policies, Long Term Care Insurance, Medicaid policies and guidelines, Medicare appeals, Medicare Rights and Protections, and Skilled Nursing Home coverage.
