Inclement Weather
Inclement Weather Policy Followed by Senior
Centers:
This policy is designed to minimize disruption of
senior center schedules in the event of inclement
weather:
If Harford County public schools are CLOSED due to
inclement weather, Harford County Senior Centers
will not be offering regularly scheduled classes or
events; NO meals will be served; and NO
transportation will be provided. Centers will be
open for recreational visits once senior center staffpersons have arrived and the parking lots are
safely clear of ice and snow. Please call the
senior center you wish to visit before you leave
your home to ensure that staffpersons have arrived
and that senior center parking lots are clear of ice
and snow.
If Harford County public schools open TWO HOURS LATE
due to inclement weather, there will be NO meals
served and NO transportation provided. Classes
scheduled 10:00 AM and later will be held at the
Senior Center Manager’s and Instructor’s discretion.
It is the responsibility of students to call the
senior center to determine if classes will be held.
If Harford County public schools open just ONE HOUR
LATE, all regularly scheduled services will be
provided (e.g., meals and transportation).
Visitors/students are still encouraged to call the
center they wish to attend to make sure premises are
clear of ice and snow.
Please note that school opening delays or closings
that are NOT due to inclement weather have no
effect on the daily operations of the senior
centers.
