Senior Emergency Fund
The Senior Emergency Fund was established to help Harford County's older citizens who find themselves in difficult circumstances with nowhere else to turn. The Senior Emergency Fund has been able to help many seniors remain independent and help meet their most urgent needs. For instance, one impoverished gentleman who as nearly blind contacted our office in desperation when he accidentally smashed his glasses. Senior Emergency Funds helped him purchase a new pair of glasses so that he could see again.
The Senior Emergency Fund has also helped to pay utility bills (preventing utility shut-offs) and provide emergency dental care (many are not aware that Medicare does not cover the cost of dental work), and has helped in many other ways. Also, every penny donated goes directly toward helping a senior in need.
