Accepted Donations: clothing from non-smoking homes, clothing that is not torn, ripped, stained or out-dated, please no suits or formal wear, we will accept undergarments that are new, we accept monetary offerings to meet our expenses, please only drop off donations during hours of operation.

Sparrow House provides a loving and secure living environment for young, unmarried pregnant women. Each resident of Sparrow House participates in a counseling program with a qualified counselor, who visits the home on a regular basis. Sparrow House provides education and training opportunities, including a certified home school program. Each resident takes childbirth classes and receives instruction in homemaking and essential life skills. Each mother and baby recieves complete medical care at professional facilities located nearby; certified obstetricians care for each woman during her pregnancy and through post-natal recuperation; and newborn infants receive pediatric care during the mother and baby's hospital stay.

The monthly income guidelines is three times the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) guidelines which is currently $552 for one person, so the maximum monthly income would be $1,656. Level of care guidelines are the same as the guidelines for Nursing Home Medical Assistance (Medicaid).

Durable medical equipment is loaned to senior citizens who might not be able to afford these items. Items that can be borrowed include wheel chairs, walkers, canes of all types, bedside commodes, shower chairs, elevated commode seats, bathtub bars and wheel chair and walker baskets. Patient Assistant Programs offered by pharmaceutical companies are identified by a Medbank Program representative who completes applications to these programs for qualifying individuals. Many drug companies will ship a 90-day supply of medication to the physician's office. Medbank repeats this process as more drugs are needed. Qualified individuals must meet the financial guidelines set by different pharmaceutical companies, have no other prescription drug coverage and be eligible for other entitlement programs like Medicaid or the Maryland Pharmacy Assistance Program.
