Aberdeen MD 21001

The Center's mission is family preservation through the provision of core supportive services. These include on-site child care, transportation, access to GED/ABE classes, parenting education, life skills training, counseling, health assessments, peer support, and pregnancy prevention techniques. The Center targets young parents and their children as well as extended family members. Visit or call the Center for more information.

MaryBeth Nance, CD, CLD

Offering continuous physical, emotional and informational support before, during and after childbirth. Educated, experienced and care provider referred.

Birth & Postpartum Doulas

Chesapeake Birth Companions offers experienced, compassionate birth and postpartum doulas. Doulas provide continuous, caring labor support during the birth of your child.

Maryland Children's Health Program

Maryland Children's Health Program is a program that gives full benefits for children up to the age of 19 and pregnant women of any age. The new program is for families with low to average income.

Upper Chesapeake Health offers childbirth and newborn baby care classes, breast-feeding information and support group, Stork Club Cadets, sibling class, preparation, grandparenting classes, and maternity unit tours for expectant parents. Call for more information.

Services of Baltimore, Inc.

Pregnancy counseling, referrals, and medical help for girls 13-21 yrs. Also offers accredited school programs for teens who may be pregnant and are unable to remain in their home.

Offers family planning, colposcopy, STD, immunization services, and child care programs. Sliding fee scale. Conducts numerous health programs for the public: family planning clinic, PAP tests, VD/AIDS diagnosis, Healthy Start Program, communicable disease control, hearing and vision screenings, etc. Transportation assistance for medical assistance only.

Providing prenatal care, home visits and child health care services.

Provides information and encouragement to women who wish to breast feed.

Providing childbirth education and doula services in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. Offers free services to pregnant teens and to women who could not otherwise afford this service if they are low-income and without a birth partner.

Volunteer Labor Doulas for Eligible Military Spouses and Partners. Provides volunteer labor doulas to women who can not afford to hire a doula and will be alone during childbirth because their husband or partner is on military deployment in support of the war on terror.

Comprehensive gynecological exams, birth control methods, pregnancy testing, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and urinary tract infections, male services, and counseling.

Harford Community College offers weekend classes to prepare the pregnant woman and her support person for the birth experience. Classes are held monthly on the HCC campus.

Bel Air MD 21014

Sparrow House provides a loving and secure living environment for young, unmarried pregnant women. Each resident of Sparrow House participates in a counseling program with a qualified counselor, who visits the home on a regular basis. Sparrow House provides education and training opportunities, including a certified home school program. Each resident takes childbirth classes and receives instruction in homemaking and essential life skills. Each mother and baby recieves complete medical care at professional facilities located nearby; certified obstetricians care for each woman during her pregnancy and through post-natal recuperation; and newborn infants receive pediatric care during the mother and baby's hospital stay.

Maryland 211:First Call for Help, MD (24-hr. line)

100 S. Charles Street, 5th Floor

MD state crisis intervention service which provides referrals for counseling for all citizen emergencies including teen pregnancy. Includes emergency services, employment, Hot Line for out of work, shelter, information, and juvenile crime victims assistance lines. Food stamp referral information.

A federally-funded program that provides healthy foods and nutrition counseling to pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children under the age of five.

WomanCare Doula Services is a birth and postpartum doula serving Harford County and beyond. Prenatal birth plan counseling, labor support and postpartum care including breastfeeding assistance. Barter available.
