Early intervention in the juvenile alcohol and drug experience is
essential if you are to escape the grip of addiction.
One option for your dependent is the Reality Program, in existence
since 1991. This program has experienced tremendous success
assisting youth in the process of learning to make better decisions,
face life's responsibilities, deal with their own addiction problem
if one exists and place them on a "Fast Track to Reasonability".
If court ordered to attend the program, a court liaison is in
attendance to assist the youth in district and circuit courts.
Additionally, the program consists of four sessions of 3 hours each
for 4 consecutive Friday nights from 5:45 p.m. until 9:15 p.m.
During this time they will deal with:
- Alcohol/Drug Diseases
- Addiction
- Alcohol's cost to the community
- Alcohol's cost to the family
- Alcohol's effect on the family
|
- Dynamics of paralyzation & injury
- Finality of death
- Developing family relationships
- Responsibility development
|
This program is under the professional direction of the Maryland
State Police and trained community volunteers who have made a strong
commitment to deal with Youth and Alcohol and Drug Problems.
The cost for all four sessions and materials is $130.00. As of
January 4, 2002, in Cecil County, Maryland State Police, North East
Barracks on Route 40, there will be Reality Classes for residents of
Havre de Grace, Cecil County and Delaware residents.
The outstanding statistics for the Reality Program since 1991 show
that less than 1 out of every 20 juvenile and underage alcohol and
drug offenders re-offend.
