JURY CONVICTS ARMED BURGER KING ROBBER
A Harford County jury convicted Daryl Stokes of three counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Use of a Handgun in the Commission of a Felony and other crimes. The jury verdict came at 4:30 pm on February 12th after a three day trial before Judge Maurice Baldwin.
The crime occurred on 2 Januany 2002 at the Havre de Grace Burger King when Stokes confronted three employees with a pistol and took cash. A customer at the drive-in window followed Stokes and got a description of the car and a tag number. The car owner's son testified that he had the car that night and was with Stokes who left and went into the Burger King and later came back to the car.
The case was presented by Assistant Mike Sanger who presented witnesses and a surveillance tape. Sentencing has been scheduled for 24 March after a pre-sentencing investigation.
