CHILD MOLESTER GETS 15 YEARS IN PRISON
Santo Manuel Norriega plead guilty to two counts of second degree sexual assault of an 11 year old girl. He was sentenced to serve 15 years in prison, another 25 years will be suspended and he will be placed on 5 years supervised probation upon release with counselling and is required not to have any contact with children. Norriega will have to register as a sex offender.
The guilty plea will mean that the child will not have to testifyat the trial. The case was investigated by the Harford County Child Advocacy Center and was prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorney Lisa Marts.
"Pleas in these types of cases are always a difficult balance between punishment of the child molester and sparing the child any more trauma associated with the trial," said State's Attorney Joe Cassilly.
