RODRIGUEZ GUILTY OF ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER
On April 22, 2005, a Harford County jury convicted Jesus Rodriguez, age 41, of Port Deposit Maryland, of Attempted First Degree Murder. After a trial lasting five days, the nine man three woman jury took just over two hours to convict the Defendant of stabbing Alicia Hamilton, an ex-girlfriend, multiple times in the neck with a pair of scissors. Ms. Hamilton was hospitalized at Shock Trauma for six days, but has recovered from her injuries. The Harford County Sheriff's Office investigated the case. The case was prosecuted by Tracey J. Delp, Assistant State's Attorney and Diana A. Brooks, Deputy State's Attorney. Sentencing is scheduled for August 10, 2005 before the Honorable Stephen M. Waldron. The Defendant faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
