GANG SHOOTER TARGET OF 50 YEAR SENTENCE

Larry Darnell Pollin, age 22, of Churchville, Maryland, was sentenced today to serve 50 years for a gang related shooting that occurred on December 30, 2007, in the Windsor Valley Apartments in Edgewood, Maryland.

Mr. Pollin was tried and found guilty on January 25, 2009, of two counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, and reckless endangerment, for the shooting that took place in the early morning hours of December 30, 2007, in Edgewood. Two victims, Enoch Richardson and Kevin Goode, both of Baltimore, were shot while walking through the parking lot of the apartment complex. Witnesses saw two men run into a nearby townhouse. Mr. Pollin was later identified as one of those men. The Maryland State Police recovered an AK-47 assault rifle hidden inside the townhouse. A Maryland State Police ballistics expert matched the weapon to the shooting. The weapon was found to have been shot 13 times, wounding each victim twice, and also piercing cars and neighboring townhouses.

Mr. Pollin has been identified as an active member of the Hilltop Crips street gang. Gang related items were also recovered from the townhouse where the victims had been staying.

Mr. Pollin was sentenced today by Judge Stephen Waldron of the Circuit Court for Harford County to serve a total of fifty (50) years incarceration for his part in the shooting. He will also serve five (5) years probation upon his release. The case was investigated by the Maryland State Police and prosecuted by Assistant States Attorney Diane A. Tobin. Mr. Pollin was represented by Amanda Bull of Bel Air.
