In September 2016, Harford County held their pilot project GIP workshop.
In February 2018, an open house was held for the public to learn about green infrastructure. Group exercises allowed citizens to provide guidance as to how the county-wide GIP should progress.
The first draft of the Green Infrastructure Plan is almost complete! We will be reviewing the draft and discussing implementation strategies at our next Open House, September 27, 2018. The Open House will be held at Harford Community College in the Chesapeake Center, from 5:30-7:30pm. This workshop will review the most important goals and strategies used for developing the County GIP’s final draft. This workshop will allow for open discussion among attendants, where green infrastructure questions are welcome.
Key topics to be addressed at the GIP workshop will include the most important restoration and preservation strategies, and environmental goals as defined in Harford County’s Master Plan, HarfordNEXT.
