Memorial Tree Information

Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation and The MA & PA Heritage Trail, Inc. have introduced a program that allows citizens to memorialize their loved ones by planting a tree along the trail, with a small plaque personalizing their remembrance.

In addition to serving as a tribute to those we have lost, the tree planting will also serve to improve and beautify the natural environment along the trail. Only the following native trees may be planted: Oak, Maple, Elm, and Eastern Red Cedar. Planting is supervised by professional foresters for optimal placement. Plantings can be ordered throughout the year; however the deadline for submitting orders before planting season is August 15. Plantings will take place in September and October the ideal time to plant immature trees.

Families will be provided with a map indicating the location of their tree.  Requests for a specific, desired location will be honored if feasible and practical. The cost of a tree planting is $750.00, which includes the tree, the memorial plaque, and the planting.

Once completed, please mail the form and check to: Ma & Pa Memorial Tree Planting, 1707 Fallston Road, Fallston, MD 21047. Checks can be made payable to Harford County, MD. For more information, please contact Matt Frosolone at 410-638-3559 or mjfrosolone@harfordcountymd.gov.
