Permit applications may be submitted via a drop box in the lobby of the county administration building, 220 S Main St. in Bel Air, MD. Staff will contact applicants with a tracking number and next steps. Alternatively, applicants can submit a completed application and all accompanying documents via email (learn more here).

OUR MISSION

The Department of Inspections, Licenses and Permits enhances public safety by ensuring compliance with all Harford County codes related to building structures. We issue permits and licenses, and offer professional guidance with code interpretations, reviews and inspections for structures that require permits within our jurisdiction. We also register professionals in certain trades. Our department always strives for efficiency and professionalism as we carry out our various responsibilities.
