Green Choices. Healthy Streams.
Church Creek Elementary School Restoration Project
Expected construction start: Early 2023
Harford County is undergoing a stream restoration and stormwater retrofit at this location. The purpose of the project is to improve stream health by stabilizing eroding stream banks, stabilizing failing stormdrains, and increasing tree buffers along the stream. Additionally, this project will improve water quality by converting an existing stormwater pond into a submerged gravel wetland. A submerged gravel wetland is an infiltration practice that is designed to treat stormwater runoff. The existing infiltration trench is proposed to be enlarged for stormwater treatment.
