Members
Membership is made up of representatives from the Sheriff's Office, Board of Education, Office of Drug Control Policy, Local Management Board, 12 members of organizations that provide children's services, and one youth representing each councilmanic district:
- Office of Drug Control Policy Representative
- Harford County Board of Education Representative
- Harford County Sheriff or Designee
- Local Management Board Representative
- Citizen Representative
Youth organization representatives
- Maximum of 12 members who represent organizations that provide youth services and programs oriented to Harford County's youth.
Youth representatives from each councilmanic district
- A minimum of 6 representatives who are current County students, 1 from each of the Council Districts if possible.
About the commission
The Youth Commission was created by Harford County Code Article VII to help advise the County Executive and other county officials on the services available to and the needs of the youth in the County and make recommendations on how the county can create a healthier atmosphere and environment for county youth.
Youth who participate in the commission will benefit by earning community service hours while gaining leadership experience and influencing activities within their communities.
