Harford Streams Upper Farnandis Branch Study
A program developed and administered by Harford County Government

The Upper Farnandis Branch Small Watershed Assessment is currently under development.

A draft report is anticipated in early 2018 and will be available for public comment.  The plan will include a list of potential restoration projects to improve stream health.

Farnandis Branch, a tributary to Bynum Run, is located south of the Town of Bel Air, Maryland. The watershed or area of land that drains to the stream is 600 acres.  The headwaters is located near the intersection of MD Route 24 and Victory Lane Road.  The Upper Farnandis Branch Small Watershed Assessment will only include the area from Brookhill Court west to the headwaters, or approximately 90% of the total watershed.

Maryland Department of the Environment has identified Bynum Run and its tributaries as impacted by sediment.  As a result Harford County was required to develop the Bynum Run Restoration Plan for Sediment in 2016.
