Ashtyn PresberryCall-taker meets young woman who called 9-1-1

Eleven-year-old Ashtyn Presberry was presented with a Gold 9-1-1 Award and pin by Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly and Department of Emergency Services Director Rick Ayers, recognizing her for calling 9-1-1 when a fire started in her house on Feb. 8, 2024. Ashtyn calmly and accurately provided her address and phone number and followed Call-taker Dan Lamey's instructions to get out of the house and not go back in. Despite being scared, she also provided details to help first responders when they arrived on scene. She is a role model for what to do when calling 9-1-1.
